MailSplat scans your Hotmail, Outlook.com or Gmail mailbox, shows exactly which emails and senders are hogging the space, and helps you clear them out — safely, and in minutes.
Most inboxes don't fill up because of thousands of important messages. They fill up because of a handful of senders — newsletters with heavy banners, automated reports, a colleague who mails 20 MB attachments. MailSplat's job is to show you exactly which those are, and then let you clear them in bulk without touching anything you want to keep.

Three steps from overflowing to organised.
Sign in with Microsoft or Google on their own login page — MailSplat never sees your password — then scan the whole mailbox: every sender, subject, date and size.
See your totals, the senders taking the most space and your largest single emails — plain numbers and bar charts, grouped by contact or biggest first.
Select in bulk, confirm in a dialog, and reclaim gigabytes. Deleted mail goes to your provider's recoverable bin — nothing is destroyed without your say-so.
How the service works, step by step
1. Create your MailSplat account
Register with an email address and password, confirm the activation link, and set up two-factor authentication by scanning a QR code with any authenticator app — Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator and the rest all work. You also receive a 32-character recovery key, which is your way back in if you ever lose the authenticator, so keep it somewhere safe.
2. Connect your mailbox
From the dashboard, choose Hotmail / Outlook.com or Gmail. You sign in on Microsoft's or Google's own page and grant MailSplat permission to read and tidy your mail. MailSplat never sees or stores your email password — the sign-in happens entirely with your provider, and you can revoke the permission from your Microsoft or Google account at any time.
3. Scan — right in your browser
Press Scan and MailSplat walks the whole mailbox, recording each email's sender, recipients, subject, date and size. Junk, drafts and deleted items are skipped, and message bodies and attachments are never downloaded — only the details needed to measure what is taking up the space.
This is the part that makes MailSplat different: the scan runs in your own browser, talking directly to Microsoft or Google, and the results are stored on your own device in the browser's built-in database. Nothing about your mailbox ever touches MailSplat's servers. Large mailboxes take a few minutes, with a live progress bar showing emails counted and space found as it goes; every completed scan is kept in your scan history so you can watch the total shrink over time.
4. Review, then splat
The dashboard shows your totals, incoming versus sent, the senders taking the most space and your largest single emails. Browse every address A–Z in Contacts, or open Emails & clean-up to work through the clutter grouped by sender or biggest first.
Tick what you don't want — whole senders at once if you like — press Delete, and confirm in the dialog. Nothing is ever deleted without that confirmation, and deleted mail moves to your provider's own recoverable bin (Deleted Items, or Gmail's Bin), so even after a splat you have roughly 30 days to change your mind.
Private by design
- No passwords. Sign-in happens on Microsoft's or Google's own pages.
- No mail on our servers. Scanning and storage happen in your browser, on your device.
- No message content. Only sender, subject, date and size are read — never bodies or attachments.
- No surprise deletions. Every deletion needs your confirmation, and goes to a recoverable bin.
- Always revocable. Cut MailSplat's access off from your Microsoft or Google account settings at any time.
Free and Pro
The Free plan covers the full scan, the full dashboard and deletions of up to 25 emails per confirmation — enough to see exactly where your space has gone and to start clearing it. Pro adds one-click auto-select in batches of 100, 200 or 300, and raises the limit to 300 emails per confirmation, which is what you want for a mailbox that has been filling up for a decade.
