What information do we collect from you?


When you register on our website for our products and services, we will ask you for your name, e-mail address, postal address and method of payment information.

The software we provide to you will record details of the content you obtain from content providers using our service. The details recorded include the type of content consumed, the content provider you obtained from, the price you paid for the content and the use you make of it. This transactional information is automatically transferred to us when you connect to our web site.

We will use the personal and transactional information we collect from you only for the purposes described below:

To provide our products and services to you


We will use your personal and transactional information to provide and improve our service to you, to pay the content providers you have purchased content from, to enable Helium22 Customer Care to deal with any queries you have about our software or service, to notify you of any changes to our service or our consumer terms, and to give any notice which we are required to give you under those terms.

To judge your application and when taking credit decisions about you, we may use information provided by credit reference agencies and credit scoring methods. Please read About Credit Reference below, for our policy regarding disclosure of information to credit reference agencies, which is only relevant for those who pay Helium22 using a credit card, debit card or when the sales amount exceeds £1,000.

Helium22 may disclose your personal information to third party administrators for the purpose of processing your data.

To send you information about our other products and services


From time to time Helium22, or marketing agencies acting on our behalf, may wish to send you information about other products and services which we offer and we believe you may be interested in.

To send you our online newsletter, press releases and other information from Helium22. When you subscribe for our online newsletter you will receive these editions monthly. You may also subscribe to receive the latest press releases and other information from Helium22.

If you have registered, and decide that you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you may unregister at any time, by emailing support@helium22.com, placing 'UNREGISTER-NEWSLETTER' in the subject line. You will then receive an email to confirm, follow the instructions to confirm that this is your intention.

Content providers you acquire content from


We will pass on your personal information (except for your method of payment, e.g. credit card details) to content providers you acquire content from through our service. Some of these people and organisations may be outside the European Economic Area and may not be subject to regulation under the UK Data Protection Act 1998 or an equivalent European law. We will also pass the content providers transactional information relating to the content you acquire from them. Unless you have given us your consent to pass information to content providers for marketing purposes (as described in the next paragraph), or you have separately given the content provider your consent to use the information for marketing purposes, we will direct the content provider to use the information only for the purpose of meeting its contractual obligations to you, e.g. providing helpdesk services and dealing with any questions or complaints you have about its content.

Use of your information by content providers for promotions


We may wish to disclose your personal (except for your method of payment, e.g. credit card details) and transactional information to certain content providers using our service, and their suppliers. Some content providers may be outside the European Economic Area and may not be subject to regulation under the UK Data Protection Act 1998 or an equivalent European law. They may use this information to offer you special promotions, bonus content, and discounts on future content purchases which may be of interest to you and to improve their services to you. We will request that these content providers do not further disclose this information without your consent.

Revocation of consent given to content providers


If you want to revoke a consent you have given separately to a content provider, you must email us at: support@helium22.com and mention the content provider by name. Otherwise, we will assume that your request is not intended to apply to that particular content provider.

Legal requirements


Although it is unlikely, we may be required to disclose your personal and transactional information by a court order or to comply with other legal requirements.

A Special Note for Parents


While Helium22 encourages children to consult with their parents before disclosing data, parents should supervise their children's online activities and consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers that help provide a child-friendly environment. These tools can prevent children from disclosing personal information without parental permission. Personal information obtained about or obtained from a child will not be used for any purposes without the consent of a parent or legal guardian of the child.

Updating personal information Helium22 holds about you


You can change or update the personal information that Helium22 holds about you at any time. You can do this online by opening your Helium22 account, entering your password and then viewing and amending your personal information as required. Security


We will respect your personal and transactional information and we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of that information. These procedures will minimise the risk of unauthorised access to your personal and transactional information. When you use, place orders or access your account information, we offer the use of a secure server. The secure socket link (SSL) encrypts all the information you input before it is sent to us. We use a certificate to authenticate and encrypt all communications between you and our servers, keeping your data safe. We also regularly check our servers for security breaches, and actively record and report all fraudulent activities to law enforcement.

Cookies


Cookies are pieces of information that a web site transfers to your computer’s hard drive to store, and occasionally track information about you. Most web browsers accept cookies, but if you prefer, you can tell your browser to stop them. Although they do identify a user’s computer, cookies do not personally identify users and passwords and credit card information. Certain Helium22 pages within the site may use cookies. The only reason we use cookies on our site is to fill in entry fields when you register, or for use with our Helium22 online newsletter, thus ensuring that you are not asked to register twice. We do not use cookies to identify who you are or to track information about you or your preferences.If we need this information, we will ask for it within our website.

The Helium22 site contains links to other sites on the Internet that are owned and operated by other third parties. These linked sites are not under the control of Helium22 and Helium22 is not responsible for the contents of any linked site. We will automatically disconnect any linked sites, web adverts or any content that contains information about racial, disabilities, sexual, colour or religious discriminations.

About Credit Reference Agencies


The section below only applies to those clients and customers of Helium22 who pay in arrears i.e. invoice and may also apply to customers who use their credit or debit card to setup a prepaid budget, or make one off payments.

By choosing to pay in arrears you consent to the use of your information as detailed below.

If you borrow and do not repay in full or on time, we may tell credit reference agencies who will make a record of the outstanding debt. Any lender may use the information provided to credit reference agencies, if you, or any other members of your household, apply for other facilities, and for occasional debt tracing and fraud prevention purposes. We may also pass information to financial and other organisations involved in fraud prevention to protect us and our customers from theft and fraud.
